Tipping your companion: the unwritten rules

Tipping isn't required, but a small gesture goes a long way. When to tip, how much, and the discreet way to hand it over without making things awkward.

Tipping your companion: the unwritten rules

Tipping comes up surprisingly often. The short version: it isn't expected, and the rate you've already agreed covers the booking in full. But for clients who genuinely enjoyed the evening and want to acknowledge it, a small tip is one of the warmest, simplest gestures you can offer.

When to tip

Tip when something went above and beyond the standard booking. She extended her stay graciously when you asked, she made a difficult night easier to navigate, or you simply had a wonderful time and want her to know it. Don't tip out of obligation — companions can tell.

How much

A typical tip ranges from 10% to 20% of the booking rate, in cash, in the same currency as the original payment. For a £300 booking, anywhere from £30 to £60 is appropriate. For longer engagements, the percentage can scale down — a 10% tip on a multi-day booking is already generous.

How to hand it over

Discreetly. Place it inside her bag or coat pocket as she's leaving, with a brief "thank you for tonight." Don't make a production of it, and don't announce the amount. The gesture is what matters, not the figure.

And if she texts you the next day to thank you — that's a sign you got it right.
